Chuck and Blair fan video: Because you loved me
June 8, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Here’s a great fan-made Gossip Girl video of what Chuck (Ed Westwick) was thinking before he FINALLY told Blair (Leighton Meester) that he loved her in the Season 2 finale. Something we “Chair” fans had been waiting all season for!
The producers definitely made us wait until the very end, but it was worth it knowing they are together now.
I wonder how Chuck and Blair together - and out of high school - will work when we return for season 3 this fall.
Hopefully, when they start filming Gossip Girl on the streets of New York in about a month, we will get a few clues.
Gossip Girl cast talks to E! Online
June 5, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
When The CW upfronts were held last month, the Gossip Girl cast talked to numerous news organizations during the big media event. Out of that, we’ve seen several interviews (and photos) of the cast. Here’s another good interview from E! Online, which includes Blake Lively (Serena), Leighton Meester (Blair), Jessica Szohr (Vanessa), Taylor Momsen (Jenny), Dan (Penn Badgley) and Chace Crawford (Nate).
Blake Lively talks about her tour of Asia. Notice she doesn’t talk about it, but Penn Badgley went on the same trip - together, of course. She also is working on getting her scuba diving certification, which Leighton Meester jokes around a little with her. Leighton says Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina) will be around some in season 3 to make college miserable for Blair, and Serena will be looking into her father’s whereabouts.
Jessica Szohr thinks the beginning of season 3 will be focusing on college, while Taylor Momsen hopes Jenny shapes up high school now that she’s the Queen Bee.
Penn Badgley just shaved a beard. Personally, I’m glad I didn’t have to see it. Oh, and he says he and Blake are “too young” to think about marriage.
Chace Crawford is asked about the Footloose movie for the upteenth time. The news that he was definitely getting the part was pretty fresh at that time, so I bet he was asked that question a hundred times. Basically, he had to work the movie into his Gossip Girl schedule.
Leighton Meester at the MTV Awards
June 3, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Junior Celebs’ blogger Nikki Katz was on the scene of the MTV Awards on Sunday (I’m jealous!)and snapped a few photos of Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf).
Leighton was wearing a beautiful black cut-out dress by Emilio de la Morena.
Other celebrities she was able to photograph at the MTV Awards included Vanessa Hudgens, Miranda Cosgrove, Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Kristen Stewart, Christian Serratos and Kellan Lutz.

Leighton Meester’s smokin’ MTV Awards dress
June 1, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Leighton Meester, who plays Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, was one of the presenters for last night’s MTV Awards held at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California
Leighton was smokin’ in a hot black cut-out dress by Emilio de la Morena, accented with purple suede boots. Her dress is getting good reviews. And if you think the front of the dress is awesome, you won’t believe what the back looks like!

During the awards show, Leighton sat next to boyfriend Sebastian Stan, who has a recurring role on Gossip Girl as Carter.
It’s possible that we may see Leighton at the music show awards more often as her debut album she is currently working on will be released this fall.
Here are a few more photos of Leighton at the MTV Awards:
A look at Cobra Starship’s ‘Good Girls Go Bad’ video with Leighton Meester
May 13, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Here’s a peek at Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester in Cobra Starship’s video for their new release “Good Girls Go Bad.”
The song, which features Meester singing along with Cobra Starship, made its radio debut last week.
The storyline that goes with the video has Meester operating a speakeasy which sits below a deli run by the band that acts as a front. Customers have to order the right kind of sandwich to get into the action below. She sells the band out to the police and they go to jail. Go Leighton!
Leighton shot the video on May 3 in NYC while she was in town for the 2009 Costume Institute Gala.
I can’t wait to see the completed video!
The song is available now on iTunes. The band’s album “Hot Mess” will be released on Aug. 11.
Good Girls Go Bad: Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester featured on Cobra Starship’s new song
May 11, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester (the wonderful Blair Waldorf) is featured on Cobra Starship’s new single "Good Girls Go Bad," and I have to say, it’s pretty catchy.
The song was co-written by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi.
Ryan Seacrest world-premiered the new single on his radio show Friday.
Here are some of lyrics Meester sings in the second verse: "I know your type/Boy you’re dangerous/Yeah you’re the guy/I’d be stupid to trust/But just one night couldn’t be so wrong/You make me want to lose control."
During her time off from shooting Gossip Girl, Meester has been in the studio working on her debut album, which she hopes to release in the fall. According to Entertainment Weekly, her first single will debut in July. If Cobra Starship’s song “Good Girls Go Bad” becomes a big hit (and it has a lot of potential) it could help Meester’s singing career quite a bit.

Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester on Ellen
April 26, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
It seems Gossip Girl’s cast is really pumping up the show as the end of season 2 draws closer. Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf, was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, April 24.
Ellen got right to the big topics with Leighton - her unusual childhood — among other things.
“My parents had been part of a very interesting lifestyle,” Leighton said. “Yes, (they were in prison.) Everything’s all good now. My dad works for an internet company. My mom’s a writer. They live the good life now.”
Ellen said Leighton Meester’s success shows that no matter what background you come from it is possible to succeed.
She went from average girl with family problems to playing a rich, spoiled girl Blair Waldorf (who we see from the clip thinks she’s too good for the subway!).
Ellen also asked Leighton about signing a deal with Universal Republic to release her debut album this fall.
She’s also on the cover of Cosmopolitan’s June 2009 issue.
Leighton donated a beautiful Chloe dress she wore the day before for the Chloe Boutique opening in Los Angeles to the Humane Society to raise funds for charity.
The dress she wore to the Ellen show also rocks.

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) was all dolled up for the Chloe Los Angeles Boutique Opening Celebration on Thursday, April 23 at Milk Studios in Los Angeles, California.
Check out her matching shoes! What do you think about this outfit?
The next day, Leighton gave away the Chloe dress to help the Humane Society (she’s a friend to our four-legged creatures!) as she mentioned during her Friday, April 24 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Leighton Meester sings "Birthday"
April 10, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
You’ve heard that Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) is working on an electro-pop album, right?
Well, her song “Birthday” was recently leaked on the Internet, so it’s not surprising it’s already on YouTube.
What do you think? Do you like the song? Her voice?
