Gossip Girl set: Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester on video
July 5, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Last week, the Gossip Girl cast returned to the set to start filming season three.
Here is a video (with no sound) showing Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) and Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) filming a scene.
Chuck, dressed to the hilt in a suit, is talking on a cell phone while he helps Blair out of the car. Blair is wearing a gorgeous silver (or is it gold?) dress, as they walk down the street. Wonder who Chuck is talking to?
These videos (below the jump) shows a few more photos of Chuck and Blair together during that day of filming, and they hold hands at one point. Also on the video is Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald).
Leighton Meester and Cobra Starship “Good Girls Go Bad” video
July 3, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Leighton Meester, who plays Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, really let loose on Cobra Starship’s new video “Good Girls Go Bad.” The song is awesome, Leighton’s voice is really good and getting good reviews, and the video itself is pretty cool! And doesn’t Gabe from Cobra Starship look awesome in his white sunglasses!
Ever since we got a sneak peek of the video and track, it’s been a favorite of mine. It’s just one of those songs that I can listen to over and over without it getting old.
And it’s kinda fitting for Blair’s character as well, since she is paired up with Gossip Girl bad boy Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick). Chuck Bass definitely makes good girls go bad.… I wonder if they will feature the song on any of season three’s episodes.
Gossip Girl has returned to filming for season three, but during the break Leighton worked on her solo music album which should be coming out in the near future. I’m glad she took up this musical endeavor with Cobra Starship and look forward to more of her music.
Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester in “Good Girls Go Bad” video preview

Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester will be making her music video debut in her collaboration with Cobra Starship’s “Good Girls Go Bad” video that will have its world premiere sometime today.
Here’s a 30-second preview of the “Good Girls Go Bad” video that shows Leighton Meester, but doesn’t show her singing (but she does sing in the video):
Here is the last “CobraCam” episode featuring a short interview with Leighton about working with the band:
This video is another preview:
I can’t wait to see the whole video!
Leighton Meester talks about music on It’s on with Alexa Chung
June 26, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) made an appearance at MTV studios for “It’s On with Alexa Chung” this week, talking about her music career and the upcoming release of Cobra Starship’s new video “Good Girls Go Bad” which features Meester singing with the group.

<
During the video, members of Cobra Starship join her for the interview and an clip from the video, which will be released Monday, is shown.
You’ll notice there was no mention of the supposed Leighton Meeter “sex tape.” I don’t blame her for not answering questions. This was really the wrong time for that (if there ever is a right time). But hopefully the media hoopla over Michael Jackson and Farrah Faucett deaths will make the story disappear from the headlines.

Gossip Girl’s Matthew Settle on fatherhood
June 21, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Gossip Girl fans know that Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle) tries to be the best father he can to Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen). So in a way, this is a Father’s Day tribute to Rufus and the actor who plays him.
Settle is now the father of a little baby girl, Ava, and is now practicing what he preaches as far as fatherhood in his real life.
I thought in the Valley Girls episode in season 2, how interesting it was when Rufus became mad at Lily for purposely getting Serena (Blake Lively) arrested. Rufus was appalled that a mother would do this on purpose, and it almost ruined his relationship with Lily.
I hope that in season 3, Rufus advises Lily on parenthood some, as she doesn’t always make the best decisions. Not that any parent is perfect, but Rufus seems to try harder than most. Happy Father’s Day to all of the Rufus Humphreys in the world!
Gossip Girl’s Michelle Trachtenberg on the red carpet
June 14, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Gossip Girl recurring guest star Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina Sparks) was spotted on the red carpet looking beautiful at the Women In Film 2009 Crystal and Lucy Awards at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles on June 12.

Trachtenberg will be back on Gossip Girl when Season 3 returns. From what we’ve heard, she will be torturing Blair (Leighton Meester) in college. I’m sure that’s all Blair needs, now she that and Chuck (Ed Westwick) are FINALLY together, but I think Blair can handle her own.
Trachtenberg also is starring in a new series on NBC called Mercy this fall. Except on this show, she’s not the bad girl. She’s more of the naive young nurse.
Here’s the full-length look at Michelle’s dress:
Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick wins Breakthrough Male Award
June 11, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Ed Westwick, who plays bad boy millionaire Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl, received the Breakthrough Male Award at the Hollywood Life 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards.
I‘m glad to see Ed Westwick win the award — as he really does bring Chuck Bass to life on Gossip Girl.

The event was held June 7 at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California.
Korbi TV caught up with Ed Westwick on the red carpet, getting a few interesting details out of him.
When asked if he is a fan of Chuck and Blair, Ed Westwick said, “I am a fan of anything good - anything that has a good storyline — I’d like for them to give it a go, at least a real try.”
Ed Westwick also said he has seven tattoos, as Korbi was asking this question to several of the stars.
Here are more photos of Ed Westwick on the red carpet, looking suave as ever:
The CW: TV to Talk About promo
June 10, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
The CW has just released a really cool new “TV to Talk About” promo that not only shows popular CW clips including Gossip Girl, 90210, Smallville, America’s Next Top Model, One Tree Hill and Supernatural, but also some of the new shows coming this fall.
The “TV to Talk About” promo shows scenes from The Beautiful Life (with Mischa Barton and Sara Paxton), Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place.
My favorite part is when Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively (Serena) tells Bart “Oh, I forgot my underwear.”
Well, almost my favorite part. I really LOVE Supernatural scream at the end. That scene gets me every time.
But the promo is right. The CW really does have “TV to Talk About” as we who love Gossip Girl could talk all day and night about it. And I’m passionate about other CW shows too including Smallville and 90210. I’m already planning to watch the three new shows - The Beautiful Life, Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place. I feel like I “have” to watch them or I will be missing out.
Chuck and Blair fan video: Because you loved me
June 8, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Here’s a great fan-made Gossip Girl video of what Chuck (Ed Westwick) was thinking before he FINALLY told Blair (Leighton Meester) that he loved her in the Season 2 finale. Something we “Chair” fans had been waiting all season for!
The producers definitely made us wait until the very end, but it was worth it knowing they are together now.
I wonder how Chuck and Blair together - and out of high school - will work when we return for season 3 this fall.
Hopefully, when they start filming Gossip Girl on the streets of New York in about a month, we will get a few clues.
