Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr cast in two movies
May 24, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr (Vanessa Abrams) has been cast in two movies - horror movie Piranha 3D and indie drama Walks.
Szohr is currently filming Piranha 3D during her break from Gossip Girl. Walks is an independent film also starring Gossip Girl spinoff actress Brittany Snow.
According to Variety, the movie Walks takes place in the underground street art world, centering around a group of young New Yorkers coming together for the homecoming of a convicted graffiti artist.
Szohr isn’t the only Gossip Girl cast member making movies. Chace Crawford was cast in the Footloose remake and Ed Westwick has been cast in Wuthering Heights.

Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford gets Footloose!
May 19, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
It’s been a rumor for a while now, but it seems it’s now official.
Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford has been cast in Kevin Bacon’s famous role as Ren in Paramount’s remake of ‘80s movie Footloose, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
High School Musical star Zac Efron was originally cast in the role, but changed his mind recently.
HSM alum Kenny Ortega is set to produce and director the film, which won’t go before the cameras until March 2010, according to THR.
Meanwhile, Crawford has been busy filming scenes in his new movie Twelve – also starring 50 Cent, Keifer Sutherland, Emma Roberts, Ellen Barkin, among others.
Speaking of the Footloose remake, do you think Crawford can dance?
Crawford’s Gossip Girl co-stars Leighton Meester, Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick also have been cast in movies. I’m working on those stories as well.

Chace Crawford scruffy on ‘Twelve’ movie set
April 22, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford was spotted sporting a scruffier look on the Twelve movie set in Central Park in NYC on Tuesday.
Twelve also stars Kiefer Sutherland, 50 Cent, Ellen Barkin, Rory Culkin and Emma Roberts.
According to Twelve’s IMDB page, the plot is about a young drug dealer who watches as his high-rolling life is dismantled in the wake of his cousin’s murder, which sees his best friend arrested for the crime.
Personally, I’m not for Chace Crawford scruffiness. I like him clean cut. In one of the photos below, he could almost pass for a werewolf!
Here are a few more photos of Chace Crawford on the set:

Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl’s Dan Humphrey) fans might want to head to the movie theaters to see Badgley’s new feel-good rugby movie Forever Strong, which will open on Friday, September 26.
