Hilary Duff to guest star on Gossip Girl
July 1, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Hilary Duff is joining Gossip Girl for a multi-episode arc, according to EW.cm’s Ausiello Files.
Duff will play Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU — and will end up rooming with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr). That should be fun. How much you wanna bet that Duff’s movie star character is totally going to rub Vanessa the wrong way. Should make for some good laughs!
Duff will debut in Gossip Girl’s fourth episode in season 3, slated to air Oct. 5.
Is it possible that one of our Gossip Girl guys could interest Olivia? Hilary News reports that Olivia wants to date a “simple, nonfamous guy.”
That definitely fits Dan Humphrey’s (Penn Badgley) bill. And he would have the perfect hookup with Vanessa rooming with her.
What do you think about Hilary Duff guest starring on Gossip Girl? Do you think there will her character Olivia and Vanessa will become BFFs? Which character would you want her to be romantically involved with?

Well, Gossip Girl fans, we have something to talk about!
First the good news. Gossip Girl will return for season 3 - more Serena, Blair, Chuck, Dan, Nate, Jenny, Vanessa, Rufus, Lily and Dorota - on Monday, September 14.
But …. The CW is switching up One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl’s time slots. When Gossip Girl returns in September, will air at 8 p.m. CST instead of 7 p.m., following One Tree Hill.
Now for me, that’s not a big deal. I will watch Gossip Girl no matter when they put it on the schedule. But for you, is it good or bad? In the age of Tivo and online videos, is it even a big deal anymore?
The CW is officially kicking off its new season on Tuesday, September 8 with the return of sophomore drama 90210 (8/7 p.m. CST), followed by the series premiere of the updated version of Melrose Place (9/8 CST).
On Wednesday, September 9, America’s Next Top Model will return with a two-hour premiere (8/7 CST). The regular Wednesday night lineup will start on September 16 with America’s Next Top Model in the 8/7 CST timeslot, followed by the series premiere of the new model drama The Beautiful Life: TBL at 9/8 CST starring Mischa Barton and Sara Paxton.
On Thursday, September 10, the new lineup for the night will feature the premiere of The Vampire Diaries at 8/7 CST and the return of Supernatural at 9/8 CST.
Smallville, a Thursday night veteran, will now will have a new home on Friday nights beginning Friday, September 25 (8/7 CST). Smallville will be followed by an encore episode of America’s Next Top Model.
What do you think about The CW’s fall schedule?

Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively, Penn Badgley at W hotel opening
June 10, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
I guess Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley (Dan) got used to having a beard when he was in Thailand with co-star and real-life girlfriend Blake Lively (Serena) on vacation. The two were spotted at the W Hotel opening in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on June 4.
While he was clean-cut for the CW upfronts, he talked to the media about how he grew the beard while on vacation. I am not a fan of the Penn Badgley beard. I wonder if Blake Lively is. Blake, please tell him to shave!
As for Blake, I like her white shirt dress with the ruffles. The dress has a strange shape, but it works for her long, lanky figure. It’s not a dress that would look good on everyone though.
Check out her rockin’ blue heels and a close-up of Penn Badgley’s beard after the jump.
Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively, Penn Badgley at Burberry Lights Up NYC event
May 30, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively (Serena) and Penn Badgley (Dan) were spotted at the Burberry Lights Up NYC event at the Palace Hotel in New York City.
The Palace Hotel is used often to film Gossip Girl scenes.
Other celebrities at the rooftop event included: Orlando Bloom (with short hair), Molly Sims, Justin Long, Rose McGowan, Claire Danes and Harry Connick Jr.
What do you think of Penn’s facial hair? Personally, I like Penn and Chace Crawford (who was growing facial hair too while on break from Gossip Girl) clean cut.
Here are more photos of the two at the event:
Gossip Girl stars discuss Season 3
May 27, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Filming for season 3 of Gossip Girl starts in mid-June. So what do the Gossip Girl stars think is coming up on the show for their characters? This video was taken at the CW upfronts last week.
Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) thinks her time with Nate (Chace Crawford) backpacking in Europe will have consequences. I’m not sure if she’s saying this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Penn Badgley (Dan) is ready for his character to loosen up quite a bit and enjoy being young. I think Penn wants to play the bad boy but is stuck in the good guy role.
Blake Lively (Serena) thinks it will be interesting for her character to try to find out more about her father and learn about her mother’s past (can you smell the Gossip Girl spinoff?).
Gossip Girl couple Blake Lively and Penn Badgley take trip to Thailand
April 13, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Real-life Gossip Girl couple Blake Lively (Serena) and Penn Badgley (Dan) were spotted at the LAX airport last week catching a late night flight to Thailand.
Blake carries a pillow for the plane trip, while Penn holds on to their carry-on bag. I wonder if we will see photos from their trip? I guess they wanted some R&R away from the hustle and bustle of NYC.
The funny part is the real-life couple are no longer together on the show, though they seem to still have a good friendship. In fact on the April 20 episode preview, it looks like Dan helps Serena with a problem.
Here are some more photos of the couple at the airpot:
Blake Lively and Penn Badgley out on the town
March 25, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley are spotted leaving the Waverly Inn in New York City on March 23.
Lively, who plays Serena van der Woodsen, and Badgley, who plays Dan Humphrey, are rumored to still be dating. Late last year, there were rumors that the couple had broke up, but lately they have been seen together again.

Spoiler roundup: Gossip Girl is finally back tonight!
March 16, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Doesn’t it seem like forever since the last new episode of Gossip Girl? I know, I know. It has. Well, tonight a new episode, “The Age of Dissonance,” 2.18, will air on The CW finally and it should be a good one!
Here’s the official episode guide for tonight’s OMG event: The Constance Billard and St. Jude seniors are putting on a production of “The Age of Innocence” (hence, the episode title “Age of Dissonance”) and find their personal lives mirroring conflicts in the play.
Serena (Blake Lively) develops a crush on the play’s director, Julian (guest star Harmon Walsh), and enlists Vanessa’s (Jessica Szohr) knowledge of theater to help her get the otherwise uninterested guy’s attention.
Blair (Leighton Meester) receives devastating news about her future that leads her on a witch-hunt for the person responsible.
Dan (Penn Badgley) and Rachel (guest star Laura Breckenridge) agree to stay away from each other in the aftermath of being discovered as more than teacher and student, but find it impossible to keep that promise.
Chuck (Ed Westwick) enlists help from an unlikely source, his nemesis Carter Baizen (guest star Sebastian Stan, now on the new NBC show Kings).
Now, when we left Gossip Girl last time, Dan and Rachel were in bed together. So there’s going to be good stuff between Dan and Serena if Dan ever comes out of Rachel’s apartment.
Plus, can you imagine Dan and Blair having to play opposites to each other in the school play. If they kiss on stage it’s going to be hilarious!

Sorry Derena fans: Dan and Serena are over on Gossip Girl
March 5, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

According to various sources, Dan and Serena are toast on Gossip Girl!
We no longer will have to worry if Dan (Penn Badgley) and Serena (Blake Lively) will have to live as half-siblings as they are heading in other directions.
According to Watch with Kristin, a source says they are “done” completely for the rest of the season.
And over at Entertainment Weekly, Ausiello Files’ column is saying the same thing — Derena is over, according to executive producer Stephanie Savage.
For the rest of the season Serena will be messing with her new boy toy played by Armie Hammer, according to Watch with Kristin.
A source tells Watch with Kristin:
“The last few episodes of the season are chock-full of some of the biggest OMFG moments of the series.”
OMFG moments? I can’t wait!
