High School Musical 3: Senior Year and its cast, Miley Cyrus and Gossip Girl and its cast each scored 10 nominations. American Idol received seven nominations.

Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick wins Breakthrough Male Award

June 11, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

Ed Westwick, who plays bad boy millionaire Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl, received the Breakthrough Male Award at the Hollywood Life 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards.

I‘m glad to see Ed Westwick win the award — as he really does bring Chuck Bass to life on Gossip Girl.

The event was held June 7 at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California.

Korbi TV caught up with Ed Westwick on the red carpet, getting a few interesting details out of him.

When asked if he is a fan of Chuck and Blair, Ed Westwick said, “I am a fan of anything good - anything that has a good storyline — I’d like for them to give it a go, at least a real try.”

Ed Westwick also said he has seven tattoos, as Korbi was asking this question to several of the stars.

Here are more photos of Ed Westwick on the red carpet, looking suave as ever:

Leighton Meester’s smokin’ MTV Awards dress

June 1, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

Leighton Meester, who plays Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, was one of the presenters for last night’s MTV Awards held at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California

Leighton was smokin’ in a hot black cut-out dress by Emilio de la Morena, accented with purple suede boots. Her dress is getting good reviews. And if you think the front of the dress is awesome, you won’t believe what the back looks like!

During the awards show, Leighton sat next to boyfriend Sebastian Stan, who has a recurring role on Gossip Girl as Carter.

It’s possible that we may see Leighton at the music show awards more often as her debut album she is currently working on  will be released this fall.

Here are a few more photos of Leighton at the MTV Awards:

Blake Lively at the Golden Globes

Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively (Serena) looked breathtaking in her strapless Nina Ricci leg-revealing sequined gown at the 2009 Golden Globes Sunday night, where she served as an award presenter.

The actress took her dad (also an actor) Ernie Lively as her date. In the video below, her father answers Ryan Seacrest’s questions about what he thinks about the “text speak” for younger viewers on Gossip Girl.

He said he doesn’t get it, but he understands “pretty faces and dramatic stories,” even though it does mess up is Monday Night Football viewing!

The CW awards courtesy Watch with Kristin

December 13, 2008 by Cheril Vernon

I’m a loyal follower to the Watch with Kristin gossip blog from E! Online and columnist Kristin Dos Santos has done it again with the first-ever CW Awards.

Noting The CW is frequently overlooked during awards season, she’s posted the nominees for The CW Awards that you can vote on (just for fun - there isn’t an award show) including Best Series, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Writer/Producer/Auteur.

Gossip Girl overall made the nominees list for Best Series (up against America’s Next Top Model, One Tree Hill, Privileged, Reaper and Supernatural).

Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley (Dan) and Ed Westwick (Chuck) were nominated for Best Actor against Jensen Ackles from Supernatural, Tom Welling from Smallville (love him!) and Tristan Wilds from 90210.

Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick makes People magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive list

November 20, 2008 by Cheril Vernon

Ed Westwick, who makes our hearts flutter as Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl, has been named one of the Sexiest Men Alive on People magazine’s annual list.

The list includes other hotties including The 2008 Sexiest Man Alive — Hugh Jackman — as well as Quantam of Solace star Daniel Craig, High School Musical star Zac Efron and Dirty, Sexy Money star Blair Underwood, Raising the Bar star Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Twlight’s Robert Pattinson, among others.

I could think of two other Gossip Girl men who are worthy of making the list — Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald) just because he’s a pretty boy that’s never hard on the eyes, and then there’s Matthew Settle (Rufus), the hottest dad on TV.

But — my fav is Ed Westwick because he is so FREAKIN’ sexy even when he’s bad, oh, he’s good! His scenes with Blair (Leighton Meester) are smokin’ hot!

Here’s the clip of the new Gossip Girl-Chuck Bass promo featuring Britney Spear’s song "Womanizer" to help us relive some of our favorite Chuck moments:

Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester is Sexiest Fall Star

September 19, 2008 by Kelly

Gossip Girl Season 2 Premiere Party hosted by YSL and Henri Bendel

Leighton Meester has been named the sexiest star of fall by FHM online.

FHM Online US Editor JR Futrell had this to say:

As bad girl Blair Waldorf in this year’s breakout hit, ‘Gossip Girl,’ Leighton Meester has stolen the spotlight with her mind-blowing good looks and amazing performance.

Others who made the list include: Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Madeline Zima (Californication), Deanna Russo (Knight Rider), Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Entourage), Jaime King (Gary Unmarried), Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Kaley Cuoco (Big Bang Theory), Dania Ramirez (Heroes) and Eva Longoria Parker (Desperate Housewives).

Leighton Meester Channels… Blake Lively?

2008 Teen Choice Awards - Press Room

Okay, something weird is afoot in the world of fashion… I normally adore Leighton Meester but what’s with the outfit?

It’s ill fitting, for one. She’s a doll - I almost always love what she’s wearing - and this does her no favors.

Second, it’s a little too close to what Blake’s wearing… Did they call each other before hand and agree to jewel-toned Greek-inspired dresses with belts? Cause it sure looks like it.

What do you think? Do you love the twin vibe or is it a little too much?

Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley at Teen Choice Awards: Hot or Hot Mess?

2008 Teen Choice Awards - Arrivals

So I don’t know about this one… I sooo want to love both Penn and Ed here but it’s just not working for me.

It’s not a day at the park. It’s an awards show. And I realize it’s not an awards show like the Oscars - and the awards are giant surfboards - so clearly the vibe is casual chic and not fussy. But casual doesn’t have to equal messy and not put together.

Blake and Kristen looked fab. Even Chace looked good (and he’s not my favorite of the boys, by far) - he worked his look far better. Ed looks like he just got dragged, kicking and screaming, out of his limo - and while that might have good connotations for some of you, it’s just not working for me.

What can I say? Dexie liked it.

What do you think? Hot or Hot Mess?

Chace Crawford at Teen Choice Awards

August 4, 2008 by Kelly

Here’s some great footage of Chace Crawford in the press room at the Teen Choice Awards!

Chace looks adorable and the interview is one of his best, I think. He actually looks comfortable - even when asked if he has a crush on Lauren Conrad!
