The “Dear Gossip Girl” rap

January 8, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

Gossip Girl fans, be still your hearts! We now have a Gossip Girl rap titled “Dear Gossip Girl” from Southern Mothers featuring Matt Pearson.

The song (a little bit rap, a little bit R&B) starts with the lyrics, “Ever since you spotted Serena at Grand Central…”

The song/video is actually more than five minutes long. Here’s one verse:

“Nate Archibald’s a gigolo for Catherine the Lady
She’s got more libido than Agnes’s got crazy.
“What a yummy cappuccino!” “Ooh, thanks Vanessa!”
“Hope your dirty Brooklyn hands don’t much up my French press-a.”

Click here to read the annotated lyrics to “Dear Gossip Girl” — believe me, it makes more sense when you read it.

What’s neat about the video is that it is filmed on some of the Gossip Girl locations that you will recognize. The song name-drops the main characters and has several Gossip Girl innuendoes.

The lyrics are by Southern Mothers with music by Doug Fischer, directed by Rakesh Baruah.
