Desmond Harrington as Jack Bass on the Gossip Girl set

Strolling through pictures on the set of Gossip Girl, I came upon a couple of photos with Desmond Harrington (Dexter), who will be playing Jack Bass in upcoming episodes. Desmond is on the left of Chace Crawford in the photo above.
Jack Bass is the uncle of Chuck, and will be coming to the Upper East Side at a critical changing point in the family dynamics. As you probably have heard, there will be a death of a major character in the next episode (December 1), and that character is rumored to be…

Desmond has been playing Quinn on Showtime’s popular Dexter, but production on this season is over. This leaves Desmond available for shooting scenes for a multi-episode arc, according to Entertainment Weekly.
This guy is young (did I mention hot?) and I can see a lot of possiblities between the other characters and himself. Not only as far as his relationship with nephew Chuck, but with the ladies of Gossip Girl.
Besides his role on Dexter, Desmond also has played Troy in Rescue Me, Wylie Blake in Sons & Daughters and Det. Jimmy McCarron in the 2003-04 series Dragnet. He’s been in a several movies ranging from We Were Soldiers, Ghost Ship and Wrong Turn and was Jesse in Steven Spielberg’s Sci-Fi mini-series Taken starring Dakota Fanning in one of her first major roles.
he is cute! most importantly, he actually bears a resemblance to robert john burke especially on the photo behind nate. amazing casting! now lets see what this new bass brings to the table. a possible love interest to the young girls (well most of them are not of legal age with the exception of blair) or another third wheel for lily/rufus??
