“The Serena Also Rises” recap
Gossip Girl, Episode 2.5
It’s Fashion Week and Manhattan’s elite are making plans for all of the fashion shows.
Blair (Leighton Meester) has stepped in to do the seating chart for her mother Eleanor Waldorf’s fashion show and is excited to be in the middle of her mother’s world. By tradition, Eleanor (Margaret Colin) is expecting Blair and Serena (Blake Lively) to be backstage with her. Blair happily informs her mom she is planning to let her school friends sit on the second row, which should make them worship her (she needs to get her throne back from S). Everything seems perfect in Blair’s world for the moment. Read more
Mädchen Amick moves on to My Own Worst Enemy
September 29, 2008 by Cheril Vernon
Guest star Mädchen Amick, who played the married cougar Catherine (a.k.a. The Duchess) who chased — and pretty much owned Nate (Chace Crawford) since Season 2 of Gossip Girl started, has moved over to her new TV show, My Own Worst Enemy with Christian Slater.
In the last Gossip Girl episode, “The Ex-Files,” Blair (Leighton Meester) forced Catherine and her stepson Lord Marcus (Patrick Heusinger) to leave town, after Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) catches a glimpse of Catherine in an intimate moment with her stepson!
Only Vanessa wasn’t sure that Blair was going to confront Catherine, so she prematurely exposed the affair to Catherine’s husband. This makes Catherine withdraw her deal to pay off Nate’s debts — ticking off Blair and putting a rift between Nate and Vanessa.
Nate started off Season 2 hot and heavy for Catherine, but soon he felt forced and wanted out, but Catherine seemed almost obsessed with her new boy toy, not wanting him to share him with anyone else — especially Vanessa. Read more
Another Sneak Peek: The Serena Also Rises
September 28, 2008 by Cheril Vernon
In previous The Serena Also Rises spoilers in episode 2.4, Blair (Leighton Meester) has a cow when realizes Jenny (Taylor Momsen) has changed the seating chart for her mom’s fashion show — the seating chart Blair did.
Here, we see how that comes about as Jenny helps Blair’s mom Eleanor (Margaret Colin) and Laurel (Michelle Hurd) get more A-listers to the front row.
I love Laurel’s line in this preview: “Kirsten Dunst is soooo 2007.” Okay, like whatever!
Jenny and Nate kissing on set videos

Well, we already know that Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Nate (Chace Crawford) will be hooking up in a future episode.
Here’s a clip a fan got on the sidelines of the Gossip Girl set where Nate and Jenny actually kiss. There’s not much audio on the video, but you can definitely tell that they are locking lips.

More spoilers from The Serena Also Rises
September 27, 2008 by Cheril Vernon
It’s so hard to wait each week for a new episode of Gossip Girl, isn’t it?
Here are a few more spoilers from “The Serena Also Rises” episode, scheduled to air on Monday, September 29, to keep your appetite whet:
In this clip, Blair (Leighton Meester) puts Chuck (Ed Westwick) in his place. There’s no love lost between these two in this scene:
If you’ve seen the main The Serena Also Rises preview, you will have heard Blair’s “Serena, Serena, Serena!” whine. OMG, Blair throws a fit in this scene. Then she sets a path to get back at Jenny for changing the seating for the fashion show. I don’t know what she’s planning, but Jenny watch out.
In the other preview where Dan (Penn Badgley) visits Chuck, wanting a night in Chuck’s World, this one goes even further. It looks like Dan’s night on the town with Chuck is wonderful, but Chuck makes sure it’s a night Dan will never forget in classic Chuck style:
Gossip Girl Leighton Meester puts positive spin on prison story
September 26, 2008 by Cheril Vernon
Leave it to Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) to turn possibly negative publicity into something positive.
Meester, 22, graces the cover of Us Weekly’s latest edition giving her side of the story about being born in a halfway house to a mother who was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for smuggling marijuana.
According to the Us Weekly report, her mom Connie gave birth at age 29 to Leighton while she was just beginning her sentence. Her dad, Doug, also served time for the smuggling operation.
But things are a lot different today. Her dad works in construction and her mom is a screenwriter (though they are not together anymore).
Everything her parents did questionable occurred before she was born — way in their past. Meester says she’s thankful for where she is today and says her mom has always been there for her.
What’s up with Drew Barrymore and Ed Westwick?
September 26, 2008 by Cheril Vernon
Actress Drew Barrymore was seen making out with Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) this past weekend during an afterparty in NYC.
Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford, as well as Blake Lively (Serena) and Penn Badgley (Dan) were all hanging out together with Barrymore and others last weekend following a Saturday Night Live party.
Originally some suggested she was with Crawford, but insiders said it was Westwick who she was hanging all over.
Now is this a one-time thing or will we see more of this couple together?

In the first photo it looks like they are decorating t-shirts.
The O.C.’s Willa Holland on Gossip Girl set
September 26, 2008 by Cheril Vernon

Here’s a photo of The O.C.’s Willa Holland on her way to the studio set of Gossip Girl Thursday, September 25.
Holland, who played the second Kaitlin Cooper on the Josh Schwartz teen drama, is rumored to be joining Gossip Girl for a three-episode arc as Agnes, a teen model for Eleanor Waldorf’s fashion line.
It’s likely that she will be spending time with Jenny (Taylor Momsen) who is interning at Waldorf Designs.
The question is whether or not Holland’s character will be a friend or foe to Jenny.

Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen in photos
September 26, 2008 by Cheril Vernon
Here are a couple of candid shots of Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey).
I think Taylor looks exceptionally beautiful in this red gown (though she’s kinda falling out of the top of it) as she arrives on the red carpet for the 125th anniversary season of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
