Gossip Girl Promo: 55 MPH Club
July 31, 2008 by Kelly
Okay, ewwwwww. A bus?
But at least Serena and Dan are bringing a little more fun back to their (possibly short lived) relationship. It was getting seriously boring.
It’s Not Diamonds that Are a Girl’s Best Friend!

It’s a girl’s dog!
Here, Blake Lively makes her way to the set of Gossip Girl, with her favorite accessory, Penny.
As previously reported, Penny is a Maltepoo. Maltepoos (also known as maltipoos and malti-doodles) are mixed-breed dogs bred from Poodle and Maltese parents.
She’s told InStyle magazine, “A lot of people come up to me and they’re like, ‘Oh, my gosh, are you…’ and I think they’re going to ask if I’m from Sisterhood [The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants] and they say, ‘with that really cute dog?’”

—
I get it, being a dog lover myself. My dog, Lyle, turns 9 years old this summer. And while not as easy to carry around as Penny (he’s officially more than 75 pounds), he still gets his share of stares from adoring admirers.
What I love about Blake is that she seems to genuinely have affection for Penny (as I do for Lyle) rather than just use him as a fashion accessory a la Paris Hilton.
What about you? Are you as big a dog lover as Blake Lively? What kind of pet do you have?

Gossip Girl Promo: Girl Talk

The CW offers up this extended clip of Serena and Blair chatting. Hmmm… Serena clearly had a busy summer!
Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr Caught in Time Warp
July 28, 2008 by Kelly
I think Jessica Szohr is beautiful but quick, someone tell wardrobe that it’s not the 1980s. This ensemble is great - if you’re Olivia Newton John about to shoot a video in 1984. But on the set of Gossip Girl? It feels very out of place to me.
Anyone else?

Is it just me or do you sense a whole new set of catch phrases this fall? Mother-chucker, anyone?
Happy Birthday Taylor Momsen!
July 26, 2008 by Kelly
Taylor Momsen is…. drum roll, 15 years old today!
15.
Wow. She just feels so much older.
But still cute as a button.
Jay McInerney to Guest on Gossip Girl
July 25, 2008 by Kelly
Okay, quick six degrees of separation question… What does Angelina Jolie have in common with Leighton Meester? Here you go:
1, Angelina Jolie got noticed in her role as model Gia (a famous supermodel whom Cindy Crawford was compared to) in the movie of the same name.
2, Author Jay McInerney penned half of the screenplay for Gia.
3, Jay McInerney is a famous author in real life who is married to publishing heiress Anne Hearst.
4, Anne Hearst is related to Lydia Hearst, who recently guested on Gossip Girl
5, Lydia Hearst guested as Amelia, an interior designer who is also Chuck Bass’ newest “diversion.”
6, Chuck Bass’ on again, off again romance with Blair Waldorf has been a hot topic this season. Blair is, of course, played by Leighton Meester.
So there you have it.
Salacious Gossip Girl Promos Getting Noticed: Every Parent’s Nightmare
July 24, 2008 by Kelly
The final Gossip Girl promo poster actually paints Blake Lively as the bad girl - quite a change for her character these days!
This final poster is one that is generating quite a bit of agita - and clearly it’s because touting both the character Serena and the show as “every parent’s nightmare.”
What do you think? Will it hurt the show - or help?

Racy Gossip Girl Promos Getting Noticed: Inappropriate
July 24, 2008 by Kelly
The Season Two Gossip Girl promos are making the rounds.
The idea of reminding the audience what’s bad for you is appealing - the CW did it with the Chuck Bass ad and they’re trying it again here. “Mind-blowingly Inappropriate” reads the poster. Some parents agree. Do you?

Sexy Gossip Girl Promos Getting Noticed: Very Bad for You
July 24, 2008 by Kelly
Season Two promos for Gossip Girl are out - and they are generating some buzz. Here’s the second in the series…
Apparently, the CW is going the reverse psychology route with this one. It’s your favorite bad boy, Chuck, reminding us how “very bad for you” the show is.
Hmm… will it work?
