“Much ‘I Do’ About Nothing” Recap, Episode 1.18 (Finale)

It’s the finale!

It’s daytime. Serena is walking around, calling Dan continuously. She decides to go see him.

Rufus and Lily wake up together. Rufus gets a call that his band has been invited to open for the Breeders.

Blair and Chuck also wake up together. They discuss their plan to “get” Georgina.

Nate and Captain have a discussion at the park. Clearly, Captain is using again.

Dan also wakes up in the same apartment as Georgina - an anxious Serena finds out when she shows up. Serena and Georgina quarrel and Georgina leaves. Serena threatens to tell Dan everything - and she does. Dan acts as if he really did sleep with Georgina but they don’t really talk about it.

Bart and Lily meet to discuss their future. They talk in circles - until the end. He clearly knows about her relationship with Rufus.

Dan and Blair plot to destroy Georgina… Georgina looks like she is leaving town but asks the limo to turn around after a phone call from Dan.

Dan and Georgina meet at their *spot* in the park. Blair meets her, too, with Georgina’s parents! They resolve to send Georgina to reform school (on Blair’s suggestion). Blair reminds Georgina, “Haven’t you heard? I’m the crazy bitch around here.”

Dan tells Rufus that Lily stayed away because Serena asked her to. He’s hitting the road with his band, so he thanks Dan and leaves.

Nate and Chuck quarrel over Captain’s alleged drug use and there is a clear awkwardness (even worse than normal!) between Nate and Chuck. Nate chooses to believe that his dad is clean. Chuck witnesses what he thinks is a drug deal. He tells Nate about it and Nate goes to see his dad - it’s not a drug deal. Captain is buying a passport to leave the country before the trial.

Rufus shows up at Lily’s wedding. They have a discussion about the past - and the future. She leaves to get married to Bart. And does.

Dan tells Serena that he didn’t sleep with Georgina but that he “might as well have.” Serena is crushed. She tells Dan that she doesn’t want to break up with him, but he tells her that he may want to break up with her. He is upset because it has been so easy for her to lie to him. So they do break up.

Chuck and Nate have a guy moment outside when Chuck witnesses Nate hit his dad. Vanessa comes outside to get Chuck for the toast.

Chuck gives his speech and it is touching. He tells Blair that it was inspired. He then tells her that he doesn’t believe that she belongs with Nate - she tells him that he doesn’t believe that he belongs with anyone.

Dan and Serena dance. And dance. And dance.

A week later…

Jenny calls her dad. The letter from Parsons arrives - she got an internship for the summer with Eleanor Waldorf Designs.

Chuck and Blair make plans to go to Tuscany… Serena is still single. She hasn’t talked to Serena since the wedding.

Nate and Vanessa are no longer together. Vanessa won’t say why. And Dan won’t talk about Serena.

Hmm.

Nate and Serena run into each other on the sidewalk. She more or less invites him to the Hamptons.

Blair arrives early for the trip. She flirts with a member of the marketing team.

Bart and Chuck have a serious discussion. It scares Chuck and he doesn’t want to meet Blair. He ditches her for the new interior designer, Amelia.
