Gossip Girl Composition

by Kelly on November 9th, 2007

A lot has been written about the music behind Gossip Girl… We haven’t, however, heard a lot about the underscore.

Alex Patsavas, the music supervisor on Gossip Girl, chose the Transcenders to set the mood behind a lot of what goes on during the show. The Transcenders also composed the opening theme song (and if the techno/funk/pop sound reminds you of something you’ve heard before, they co-wrote “Let’s Get It Started Now” with the Black Eyed Peas).

You can catch snippets of The Transcenders at their web site (where they reveal that they’ve also done tunes for Superbad, John Tucker Must Die and Knocked Up as well as a number of ads for Target) - they also have a MySpace page.
