One Strike and We’re Out?
Word is that production on Gossip Girl will be immediately affected by the writer’s strike. Horrors!
There are 2,500 members of the Writers Guild East who are affected by the strike. Thirty shows are expected to stop production and Gossip Girl is among them. The LA Times is reporting that the show will only air 13 episodes this season instead of the planned 22. Say it isn’t so!

Gossip Girl filming headquarters at Silvercup Studios in New York is one of the WGAE’s biggest picketing locations. Apparently a SAG official was sent to the GG set yesterday to inform the actors about the strike, and that they weren’t doing anything wrong by working.

Thanks for letting us know. It’s a difficult position for new actors, I think. I am sure that they’re sympathetic but clearly not in a position to pull rank a la Steve Carell (from The Office, who has refused to cross the picket lines).
