The Gossip Girls are… nice?

According to Sarah, an avid GG fan, the actors on the show are pretty darn nice. While shooting in New York, she had the opportunity to exchange hellos. She wrote (originally on Fan Forum but reprinted with her permission):

The day, besides my usual things, was a down and then up GG day

First, my friend and I were a bit bummed because we had plans with someone at 6/7 and that’s when the sign originally said they were filming. So we said ‘oh well’. BUT! Then around 4,we were walking to her apartment and turns out…they changed the shoot to an all day one from 8 am - 11 pm and as we’re walking by,they’re shooting a scene outside of the school!! We thought the location was going to be a one time shot thing but turns out this location (which is actually a nursery school) is the going to be the exterior of the school so they’re going to be shooting there alot! Down the street,there were five billion extras in uniforms.It was so bizarre. So we stood across the street with massive amounts of people (you would’ve thought it was Brad Pitt across the street) and watched them shooting. At first,we couldn’t see much but then they moved the shot…and there were Blake and Penn!

They shot a scene with them four times and I won’t say anything about it but it was an awesome awesome scene to see! Then one of the holding crew guys was chatting with my friend (i think he was hitting on her haha) and he said to us that Penn would be leaving the shoot soon so he was going to be leaving on a certain block and if we walked down there,we might be able to meet him. So we walked down there while everyone else was distracted and waited, then suddenly we bump into Penn! I’m so starstruck in those kinds of situations but my friend is so outspoken. She was just like ‘We love Gossip Girl!’ and Penn joked ‘I do too!’ He was so gorgeous, especially in the school uniform. We asked him if anything was coming up for Dan and Serena and he said ‘Oh…werent’ you watching us filming?’ with a smirk. The one horrible thing was we didn’t have a camera so we asked him if we could take a picture with my friend’s camera phone and he was happily agreed. He was so sweet! Then suddenly,everyone must have found out he was there because there was a mob of fans. Penn joked to us ‘Oh, did you tip them off?’ and then we got pushed out of the way. It was tooooo great!

So we figured that was it since they were moving the shot so my friend went to her apartment and I went to get some lunch….when suddenly Blake and Leighton walk right by me. They were joking to each other and there was a crew woman (complete with walkie talkie and head set) leading them. They’re both too gorgeous! Blake is so supermodel looking.She was wearing a school uniform and Leighton is also amazingly beautiful. She was wearing casual clothes but I couldn’t tell if that was the wardrobe or just her clothes. I was really surprised how small she is. She’s about my height (I’m around 5′4). Anyway…I got lunch and then as I was walking back to my friend’s apartment, I walked by Blake again (I guess she was on her way back to the shoot). I finally got up the courage to just smile and say ‘I love your show’ and she was so sweet and thanked me before the crew person ushered her away. Blake was so sweet during the shoot also,waving to some middle school girls who were waving to her

Anyway, it was AMAZING! The GG cast has to be the nicest cast ever! I’m hoping since they’re using the location as a frequent shooting place, I might see the cast again. You know me…I’m dying to see Ed But it was so awesome. I’ll def. be reporting back if I see anything else.

Just info for anyone who lives in NYC, if you want to catch them shooting,the location of the school exterior is 93rd between Madison and Park They’re totally nice about letting people watch. I loved how big the crowd was! Who cares what the ratings say. In NYC, GG is a HUGE hit!
